Project Samsara is a landscape design and public art studio born from the belief that design is a form of stewardship. We work with families, institutions, and communities to co-create spaces that are both intimate and expansive.
Project Samsara is shaped by place, memory, and movement. Rooted in Los Angeles, we design outdoor spaces that feel as soulful and specific as the people who move through them.
Our process is intuitive and informed, guided by ecological intelligence, design clarity, and deep listening. We believe in building beauty that endures. In slowing down. In tuning in.
Whether we’re cultivating a quiet garden, reimagining a native hillside, or designing an art installation, we begin by listening to the land and those who live on it.
The land holds memory. We design in conversation with what came before.

Equity and beauty belong together. We build spaces that celebrate the exchange of both.
_
Movements are cyclical. We honor slow, seasonal change; from plant and material matter to the gathering community.
_
Everyone is a designer. We build in public, sharing processes, not just outcomes.

Adaptive Landscapes
Adaptive landscape design is about creating spaces that are inherently flexible, responsive, and sustainable, capable of evolving over time to meet changing environmental conditions and varying user needs.
We have extensive experience preparing Planning Frameworks, Vision Plans, and Concept Designs for a variety of adaptive landscapes - from small garden spaces, to interstitial, infill, and urban spaces, to parks and greenways, to neighborhoods and natural reserves. We have worked with a range of municipalities and public and private institutions.
Engagement
We bring people together and work collaboratively to create resilient spaces that reflect the community’s stories, needs, and aspirations. Through deep listening and collaboration, we create spaces that are authentic, inclusive, and rooted in a collective vision.
Public Art
Landscapes hold memory and have the capacity to tell stories. They communicate through plants, water, materials, and time. Our way of working departs from traditional interpretive planning to integrate storytelling, mixed media, and physical design to inspire transformative experiences.
We believe public art provides a platform for migrant voices and stories, fostering cultural understanding and empathy within and between communities.
